You know crowdfunding, a great thing on the internet is that companies can give funding to their weird little ideas that are not otherwise created anymore? Well forget them all because Lego is using Indigogo to create a new line of toys.
The company based at Billund, which had made profits in access to $ 1 billion in the past year, has started a campaign for a series of sets called "Pharma", which takes the form of dynamic statues modeled after the fish.
These sets are based on their technical lines which are focused on walking, mechanical elements such as gears and axis.
The Forum Special uses a lot of flexible plastic "skins" which hides most of the mechanisms leading to construction. This type of plastic has been used by Lego over the years, but it is usually reserved for larger, flat areas such as boats, boats or wings.
Each forma set on the offer now shares the same build in which only the skins change, which they see. There are four different skins on offer with three types of sharks.
Generic no skin is a base model in which the other three skin options are optional add-ons which should be purchased separately. A superbox is also available that will get you everything currently available.
If this information and promo video excite you, do not even reach your wallet yet.
Set are more valuable than normal LEO offerings, and they are only opening orders of US and UK.
Prices for those, along with direct Rand conversion, are as follows:
81000: Any model - $ 55 (~ R777)
81001: Shark skin - $ 15 (~ R212)
81002: Splash No Skin - $ 15 (~ R212)
81003: Any skin ink - $ 15 (~ R212)
Lego Forum Super Box - $ 109 (~ R1,540)
It should be noted that the above mentioned prices do not include initial bird discounts (which are still available at the time of writing), but they include a little more in Britain's prices.
Those who promise their money before the end of the campaign next month, they can expect delivery in January 9th.
Overall, we are very suspicious about FORMA. Apart from high prices, we do not see why the big and influential company as the LEO needs to take its money first and distribute it to another product.
In a press release for the forum, it has been said that this is a "transparent approach" that will allow the development of new products to be faster. Lego is probably trying to avoid mistakes of past years, where he tried his hand to make a big sediment of wildly different products in an attempt to see what sticks and what would be the advantage is.
Using crowdfunding, they can avoid some serious damage done during that period, while still seeking the option of buying those special products on premium.
Using this platform is still something weird about such a successful company in which the word "indie" is in the name.
Poke around the campaign page and make your mind about this weird news.
